Business for Human Rights Conference 2007 Report now available!

Dear Delegates and Participants,

Please find below the link to the final report of the Business for Human Rights Conference 2007. Thank-you for your patience and input in finalizing the report. A special thanks goes out to Professor Richard Feinberg, Mr. Luke Wilde and Mr. Scott Jerbi for their contributions to the report.

The report follows the same structure as the proceedings of the Conference with section III and IV dedicated to the 2 panel sessions

III) “Systems of accountability for Business and human rights” and

IV) “The role of finance and investement in respecting and upholding human rights” :

We hope delegates and participants will also enjoy the play-by-play photos of the proceedings contained in the report.

Conference Wrap Up

Thanks to all the participants, delegates, volunteers and organizers who made this years edition of the “Business for Human Rights” Conference an amazing success. The day was full of rich dialogue, debate and discussion and as a result, the business, academic and civil society community in Geneva is aware of and looks towards business to start stepping up and taking a role in the promotion and protection of human rights.

WELCOME! “The Role of Business in Respecting and Promoting Human Rights”

Why? Building on the Global Compact Leaders Summit which took place in July of this year, reinforcing Human Rights as the first principle of the Global Compact and in creating momentum around the issue of Business and Human Rights prior to the 5th Session of the Human Rights Council scheduled for September 10th, this conference brings together leaders from the worlds of business, multilateral institutions, governments and civil society to discuss the role of business in protecting and promoting human rights.
